Important: DC12V is the default configuration and DC24V is optional. Use constant-voltage power supplies only. Do not connect the modules to constant-current power supplies. Do not exceed 20 modules per chain. The total number of modules connected to one power supply must comply with the power supply rating and wiring design.
Installation & Wiring Guide
Follow the installation instructions and observe correct polarity when connecting the LEDMS-W420 modules.
Installation Recommendations
- Clean the inside surface of the sign or light box using a suitable surface cleaner and remove dust, oil and debris.
- Peel off the protective liner from the 3M adhesive tape and mount the modules. Use suitable pan-head tapping screws where required.
- Drill wiring holes at the bottom or side of the sign box and use suitable grommets to protect the wires.
- Connect the modules in parallel using suitable waterproof connectors. Do not exceed 20 modules per chain.
- Cap all unused wires. Do not loop the module chain to create a closed circuit.
- Run the DC power supply wires to each channel letter or light box and connect them to the module-chain input. Match the power supply voltage to the selected module rating.
- Observe correct polarity. The red/white wire is positive (+), and the white wire is negative (-). Check the actual product markings before connection.
- Complete the AC power connection to the power supply only after finishing the DC-side wiring.
Storage & Maintenance
- Disconnect power and allow all modules to cool completely before maintenance.
- Do not pull on the wires when removing modules.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, pressure, vibration and corrosive or flammable gases.
- Do not clean with thinner, benzene or other volatile solvents.
- Keep modules away from sulfur-containing materials or gases.
- Install in a well-ventilated area and keep the ambient temperature below +60°C.
- Provide adequate ventilation and drainage for signboard installations.
- Do not use metal cable clamps that may damage cable insulation.
- After switching off the power supply, wait at least 5 minutes before connecting modules to avoid damage from residual voltage.
- Do not excessively bend, twist or pull the power cables.
